As a country, we celebrate 3 military-centric holidays to remember and honor the military. Those are Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, and in November, we celebrate Veterans Day, a time to pay our respects to those who have served their country.  

You may have heard in the past that it was called Armistice Day.  November 11, 1918, is the anniversary of the historic signing of the Armistice that ended World War 1. The holiday began as a time to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in the service of their country. In 1954, the name Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day to honor all veterans in all wars; with the intention to thank living veterans for their service. 

How can we honor our veterans?  Well, there are many ways. Two crucial ways involve inclusion in the employment arena and access to the built environment.
