As part of the center’s ongoing efforts to expand access, we’ve launched a Spanish-language version of our popular ADA History and Overview course.
About this Course
The ADA represents a historic milestone, as it is the first comprehensive civil rights law focused on individuals with disabilities. The ADA opens the doors to participation in jobs, state and local government programs, accommodations in public places, telecommunications, and transportation by prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disabilities, their families, and friends.
This course outlines the history of the ADA. It summarizes the history of Civil Rights Laws and the ADA in the United States, recognizes the five titles of the ADA and their enforcement agencies, defines disability, and examines the rights and responsibilities of individuals with disabilities.
Whether you're a community member, employer, educator, or advocate, this course was designed to help you better understand the significance and impact of the ADA.
Why This Matters
Offering this course in Spanish is part of our commitment to making ADA training accessible to diverse communities across our region. We recognize that language should never be a barrier to learning about rights, responsibilities, and disability inclusion.
