Rocky Mountain ADA Center maintains an ADA Advisory group to ensure the highest possible effectiveness in fulfilling our grant requirements and meeting the needs of individuals throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

Advisory Group members bring unique knowledge and skills which complement the knowledge and skills of RMADAC staff. Advisors are positioned throughout the 6-state region and the group serves to make recommendations and/or provide key information, connections, or materials to the Center.

Two representatives from each of the six-states will be selected to serve as ADA Advisory Group members for a two-year term.

Advisors Commit to:

  1. Assist in planning regional training and conferences
    • Identifying priority locations within your state
    • Identifying speakers (as appropriate)
    • Serve as a speaker (as appropriate)
    • Publicizing upcoming events via your channels
    • Inviting participants within your network
  2. Assist in selecting a scholarship recipient to attend ADA National Symposium
    • Identifying interested candidates
    • Evaluating applications
    • Participating in selection process
  3. Write 1 blog post per year
    • Month will be assigned
    • Topic to focus on ADA implementation within your state
  4. Participate in and share social media
  5. Participate in monthly Advisory calls
    • 10 calls per year
    • 80% participation required
    • Calls will cover
      • Updates from each state
      • ADA Center updates
      • Current events related to the ADA
      • Recommendations and information from advisors to assist in developing outreach initiatives, research projects and dissemination materials
  6. Participation in Region 8 research projects
  7. Link to RMADAC website on their site
  8. Provide a letter of support from their employer

Advisors Receive:

  1. Networking opportunities
  2. Fees waived for participation at biennial state training/conference
    • Includes hotel, per diem, and travel costs
    • Limited to the conference within your state
      • Once every two years
    • Introduction and brief time to speak at the conference within your state
  3. Covered registration expenses to ADA National Symposium
    • You are responsible for your own travel, hotel, and incidental costs
    • You may send another person in your place with RMADAC approval
  4. Materials for industry events provided
    • Requires 20 days’ notice
